Week One ReCap and Reflections : Making as Learning

Teaching in the Chicagoland area has really kept me on lock down. I have been spending my work hours like an ostrich and kept my head down in the dirt. As the school year ending gets closer and closer, I seem to become stronger and recharged like I was before entering the classroom.

Long story short, JUST DO IT! You have to start somewhere, start now! there is over a thousand over learners that have join #teachtheweb just for that. Observe, Copy, Tweak, Make your own, and Share. As long as you make something, good or confusing, you’ve done it. Now that we have a starting point we just get better.

To see SOOoooo many individuals put in that work, awesome to all. There is no right and wrong answers. We are all learning and learners. We need to step a side and see what the community thinks of your work.

My goal is put myself out there to help others because I’m fairly comfortable with the tools. If you have questions, contact me!

For On Space Time Foam, his new installation at the HangarBicocca, Saraceno conceived a large transparent membrane (which he amusingly calls la lasagna) that visitors can get into. Folded in three layers, it is suspended at 25-metres above the ground, providing a radical bodily experience. (An interview from Milan by Filipa Ramos)

So Boom! Mozilla Festival (Mozfest) just happened. And Hackable Games from being a seed of a somewhat unclear idea went to super blasting with playable prototypes Ravesbourne’s 8th floor. It was three amazing days and my post-MozFest tired brain will do it’s best to capture all that went…
